Hiscox, the specialist global re/insurer, has appointed Andrew Dolphin to the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) for its Hiscox Re & ILS division, effective immediately.
Dolphin joined Hiscox in 2000 and has since transitioned from a technical role in the company’s reinsurance purchase team to leading the whole of the Hiscox Re & ILS International teams across London, Paris and Bermuda.
Hiscox said that he had helped to grow its business capability in areas such as analytics and underwriting, underwriting platform development, and ensuring pricing rigour across multiple lines.
Dolphin will continue to be based in London upon commencing his new role, which will also see him join the Hiscox Re & ILS Executive team.
He will also report to Mike Krefta, Chief Executive Officer of Hiscox Re & ILS, who commented: Andrew’s proven track record of success and strong reputation made him a stand out candidate for this position. We are delighted he is now part of the Hiscox RE & ILS Executive team.”
Last month, Hiscox also announced that it had promoted Ross Nottingham to the position of Chair of North America for Hiscox Re & ILS.
