Hamilton Insurance Group, Ltd., a Bermuda-based company, has named Anita Kuchma Chief Executive Officer at Hamilton Select, its US excess and surplus (E&S) lines insurer.
Kuchma is taking over the role from Clay Rhoades who is no longer with the organisation – he had been appointed CEO of Hamilton Select in February – and will be reporting to Group CEO Pina Albo.
She has more than 35 years of specialty insurance and reinsurance industry experience. The past 16 years Kuchma has had numerous underwriting, financial, strategic and operational roles of increasing seniority at Munich Re America.
Commenting on Kuchma’s appointment, Albo said: “Having worked with Anita in the past, I am pleased to welcome her to Hamilton’s Executive Team.
“The breadth and depth of her know-how and expertise, as well as her proven leadership, will prove instrumental as we continue to build out Hamilton Select, a key pillar of the Company’s strategy, at this exciting time in the market.”
In July, Hamilton announced two new appointments for Hamilton Select. Ashly Turner was appointed head of the firm’s US Energy Insurance, and Steve Blackwell was said to lead US Life Sciences Insurance.
