Anthropic, an AI safety and research company, has appointed Monica Shokrai as Head of Business Risk & Insurance.
In her new role, Shokrai will help strengthen Anthropic’s risk management and insurance posture in support of safe, responsible, and cutting-edge AI research.
She will partner with the broader insurance industry to co-create the future of AI-centered coverage, while leveraging AI to drive operational transformation across the sector.
Shokrai joins Anthropic after nearly eight years at Google, where she most recently led Alphabet’s Actuarial, Analytics & Systems function, supporting the Business Risk & Insurance team and broader Alphabet risk quantification initiatives.
She also served as Head of Business Risk & Insurance for Google Cloud, where she managed insurance product development and partnerships for Google Cloud’s Risk Protection Program.
Prior to that, Shokrai was Manager & Actuary, Global Pricing, at Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance. Earlier in her career, she served as an Actuarial Risk Consultant at WTW.
