Aon, the global insurance and reinsurance brokerage firm, has announced the appointment of Guido Benz as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Global Renewables, Commercial Risk Solutions, effective spring 2021.
In his new role, Benz will be based in Zurich and will report to Lee Meyrick, Co-Lead, Global Specialties and CEO, Global Marine, Commercial Risk Solutions.
Alongside managing Aon’s Renewables operation globally, Benz will work closely with the broker’s Energy and Power units, including the London Global Broking Centre’s Energy Transition Group.
He joins the broker from Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, a division of reinsurance giant Swiss Re, where he served as Global Head, Engineering and Construction with global responsibility for the company’s Renewables portfolio.
Benz brings extensive experience in the renewables sector to the role, having served as Chairman of the European Wind Turbine Committee, and has 25 years of global insurance experience in markets including Asia and Europe.
