Aon Benfield names CEO for Bermuda in management restructure

Aon Benfield, the reinsurance arm global brokerage Aon, has announced both the expansion of its Bermuda team as well as a new management structure, which includes the appointment of Matthias Meyenhofer as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Aon Benfield Bermuda.

Aon Benfield logoMeyenhofer joins from rival reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter, where he was most recently Head of EMEA Global Clients, having previously served as CEO of ACE Tempest Re Europe, among other reinsurance industry positions.

At the same time, Aon Benfield has announced that current Chairman of Aon Benfield Global ReSpecialty Bermuda, Tony Fox, has been named Chairman of Aon Benfield Bermuda.

The reinsurance broker has also revealed that member of the Aon Benfield Global ReSpecialty Executive in London, Jonathan Davies, will relocate to Bermuda as of April 1st, 2018, to become Head of Aon Benfield Global ReSpecialty Bermuda.

Aon Benfield’s UK CEO, Nick Frankland, said: “Augmenting our resources in this way reflects Aon Benfield’s commitment to Bermuda, and is in recognition of the widening experience, skillsets and capital now available on the island, and of our desire to better access Bermuda capabilities in support of our global model.”

Fox, added: “The addition of these two experienced team members signals the beginning of the expansion of our Bermuda platform. Matthias and Jonathan will play key roles in helping to drive our strategic growth objectives.”

While Bob Bisset, CEO of Aon Benfield Global ReSpecialty, said: “Aon Benfield has been a long-standing partner of the Bermuda market, recognizing the value it brings to our clients in terms of its diversified and highly rated capital and skills.”
