Aon has hired Alex Wootton as executive vice president of global benefits advisory and solutions.
Wootton will focus on driving growth, best-in-class advisory support, thought leadership and innovation across a range of specialty health issues facing employers today. He reports to Dave Guilmette, chief executive officer of Aon’s Health Solutions.
On LinkedIn, Wootton said: “I’m very excited to share that I’m starting a new position as Executive Vice President of Global Benefits Advisory and Solutions at Aon!”
Wootton has spent the last twenty-four years at WTW, most recently as health and benefits managing director and global sales leader, playing a critical role in the strategic design and governance of areas including health and risk benefits, retirement and global corporate transactions.
In addition to his most-recent role at WTW and his new role at Aon, Wootton has also served as a faculty member since September 2010 at the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans.
According to its website, Aon’s global benefits division has over 300 employees that work with 15,000 benefits professionals in more than 120 countries.
