Aon, the global professional services firm that provides risk, retirement and health solutions, has appointed Darren Van’t Hof as Head of Tax Credit Financing, Transaction Solutions, with the role taking effect on August 17, 2026.

Van’t Hof will become part of the North America tax insurance practice, supporting the development of tax credit insurance solutions designed to help facilitate tax equity investments and the transfer of renewable energy tax credits and other available tax incentives.

The company said his focus will include helping clients assess opportunities and manage risks across tax credit finance, mergers and acquisitions and wider transactional activity in a changing market.

“We are thrilled to have Darren join Aon, bringing with him a breadth of experience that will further strengthen our already specialised tax team,” commented Gary Blitz, Global CEO of Transaction Solutions for Aon. “We have built a team with significant depth across tax, transactional risk and complex deal execution and Darren’s expertise will add another valuable dimension to the way we support clients in this dynamic market.”

Van’t Hof brings extensive experience in renewable energy finance, tax credit investment and industry leadership. He most recently served as interim President and CEO of the Solar Energy Industries Association, working with business leaders, policymakers and investors during a period of significant sector growth. Earlier in his career, he founded and led US Bancorp’s Impact Finance business, where he developed a renewable energy tax credit investment platform.

Van’t Hof’s background in renewable energy financing, tax credit markets and public policy will strengthen the support it provides to clients managing complex tax matters, M&A activity and transaction-related risks.

“Darren’s leadership and market experience will be a tremendous asset to our clients and colleagues,” added Jessica Harger, Head of the North America Tax Insurance Practice for Aon. “As organisations seek to manage risk and unlock value in the evolving tax credit market, Darren’s perspective will help us continue delivering exceptional outcomes for clients around the world.”
