Aon strengthens political violence & terrorism team

Aon, a global professional services firm, has announced two senior appointments to strengthen its political violence & terrorism team.

Tony Day has been named Head of Crisis Management and Julia Dickson has been appointed as Head of War and Terrorism.

Within his role, Day will report to Bernhard Steves, Global Specialty Products leader, as well as Helene Madell, head of Property & Casualty and Crisis Management. At the same time, within her role, Dickson will report to Day.

Day joined Aon in 2013 as Head of International Terrorism. He was then later named Head of Global Terrorism, before being promoted to Chief Broking Officer for Crisis Management in 2017.

Prior to Aon, Day held several roles at Chesterfield Insurance Brokers Limited and Crescent Global Limited in the fields of Political Violence and Terrorism.

Moreover, Dickson joined Aon in 2013 and most recently served as the firms head of International War and Terrorism. Before joining Aon, she specialised in Diamond Broking for Hennig – a leading international diamond broker and consultant.

Helene Madell, head of Property, Casualty and Crisis Management at Aon UK, commented on the appointments: “These are two strong appointments for Aon and we are very pleased to fill these key positions from within our existing talent pool, demonstrating the opportunities for progression at the firm. These appointments follow on from a string of recent hires made by Aon, which includes Eduardo Dávila being named President of Aon Spain, Stephen Rudman being named Head of Marine for Asia, and Pedro Penalva being named Head of Enterprise clients in EMEA.
