Aon’s Jane Kielty named as new deputy chair of BIBA

9th December 2022 - Author: Pete Carvill

Aon’s UK head of commercial risk Jane Kielty has been named deputy chair of the British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA).

BIBAA statement from BIBA said that Kielty, head of commercial risk UK, has been on the board since taking the chair of BIBA’s Insurance Brokers’ Standards Committee in 2020 and steps into the shoes of Laura Hancock, director of Yutree, who has been a BIBA board member since 2017 and its deputy chair since 2019.

Kielty, who takes up her new role at the beginning of January, said: “I was honoured to be asked to take up the position of deputy chair.”

“I am as passionate as I ever was about insurance broking, and I hope in my new role I can continue to make a difference to BIBA members. Laura is a tough act to follow but I am looking forward to the challenge.”

This is not the only new role to which Kielty has been named in 2022. Back in October, Aon announced that she was taking on her role of head of commercial risk UK.

Kielty, according to her LinkedIn profile, has also been with the firm for seventeen years and is currently based in Manchester, England.

She also spent six years at Marsh between 1999 and 2005.

At the time, Aon said that Kielty would retain her UK chief commercial officer responsibilities while the company searches for a successor.
