Arch Insurance appoints Rich Stock as CUO of casualty and surety

12th December 2022 - Author: Pete Carvill

Arch Insurance has said that Rich Stock has taken on the role of chief underwriting officer for its casualty and surety business.

ArchA post from the firm on LinkedIn said that Stock will oversee E&S casualty and alternative markets together with the middle market and large accounts casualty and surety units already reporting to him.

In this role, Stock will report to Brian First, president of Arch Insurance North America. It was only a week ago that First himself was appointed to his current role in what seems to be a slew of senior appointments.

The firm has also appointed John Rafferty to the role of CUO for financial, professional, and programs. Rafferty is one of a handful of direct reports to First, including Catherine Kelly, EVP for corporate underwriting services; Valerie Turpin, CUO of property; and Stock.

Meanwhile, Stock’s own LinkedIn profile indicates that he has worked on-and-off for the firm for around twelve-and-a-half years since 2005, first joining as vice president of construction.
