Specialty insurer Argo has announced that Chief Underwriting Officer, Tim Carter, and head of international Matt Harris, have both left the company.
Concurrently, A number of key appointments have been made, including the promotion of Susan Comparato to Chief Administrative Officer.
Comparato will oversee the global business services and innovation teams, having formerly served as Argo’s US general counsel.
She most recently managed a portfolio of Argo’s US business lines.
Andy Borst, another promotion, is to serve as interim president, international operations. He will oversee Syndicate 1200, Bermuda, Brazil and Dubai.
Borst has a broad background working in many areas of the Argo business, including his time in London as Chief Administrative Officer for International Operations prior to his promotion to serve the role for the entire group.
Gary Grose has been named president of commercial specialty and will oversee Alternative Risk Solutions, Argo Pro, Commercial Programs, Rockwood and Surety.
He formerly served as executive vice president of US Operations and will continue to oversee producer management for the company.
Lastly, Marsh Duncan will now operate as president of excess & surplus, a role which will see him oversee Casualty, Construction, Contract P&C, Environmental, Inland Marine, Property and Garage.
Duncan has held numerous roles at Argo, most recently overseeing a smaller portfolio of Argo businesses.
