Lloyd’s insurer and member of Argo Group, ArgoGlobal, has appointed Paul Lucas as Chief Actuary, International.
Lucas takes up his role immediately and will report to Bob Katzman, Chief Actuary at Argo Group.
Lucas brings 17 years’ industry experience to ArgoGlobal and joins from Aspen, where he served as Global Insurance Chief Actuary.
Having joined Aspen in 2007 as a casualty reinsurance pricing actuary before progressing through a series of increasingly senior roles, Lucas eventually became the Global Insurance Chief Actuary in 2016.
“We are pleased to welcome Paul to the team. He has a long track record of leading global teams to identify growth opportunities and improve underwriting performance,” said Katzman.
“In addition, his analytical capabilities in pricing and reserving, as well as his knowledge of key markets like Lloyd’s, will help ArgoGlobal execute its strategic plans successfully.”
