ArgoGlobal, a Lloyd’s insurer and member of Argo Group International Holdings, has announced the appointment of Daniel Byrne as credit and political risk Underwriter. He joins with immediate effect and will report to credit and political risks class Underwriter, Jeremy Shallow.
Byrne will be leveraging close to a decade’s worth of underwriting experience and joins from Aspen Insurance U.K. where he most recently served as acting Global Head, credit and political risk. Starting out as an underwriting graduate, Byrne held roles as underwriting assistant and as credit and political risk underwriter.
Shallow commented, “For over a decade, demand for credit and political risk cover has increased year-on-year. Today’s changing economic landscape, coupled with an increasingly populist global political environment, has amplified companies’ exposure to this risk.
“We expect that demand for credit and political risk cover will continue to rise. Daniel is an accomplished underwriter with a strong track record.”
“His expertise and experience in this class will be key, as we continue to focus on meeting insureds’ needs through delivering comprehensive and bespoke coverage solutions that adapt alongside market developments. I am very pleased to welcome him to the team.”
