Ascot appoints former Argo exec Will Chen to US CFO role

Specialty re/insurer Ascot has appointed Will Chen to lead its US business as Chief Financial Officer, a role he recently operated in at rival player Argo.

ascot-new-logoChen, who brings 25 years’ experience to the role, will take on primary authority and oversight for the financial prosperity of businesses including Ascot Specialty Insurance and Ethos Specialty.

Ascot’s official statement announcing Chen’s appointment underlines an additional focus towards the broader financial strategy employed in the region, as well as capital management, tax, FP&A and related operational processes, systems, and controls.

Reporting to group CFO Joe Roberts, Chen has served for a number of highly regarded organisations, such as AIG, AJG and Zurich.

“Will is a recognized insurance practitioner with technical proficiency, leadership and management skills to help enhance our finance function across our rapidly growing U.S. businesses,” noted Roberts.
