Aspen Insurance Holdings Limited (Aspen) has announced the appointment of Michael Tate as Inland Marine – Head of Product & Underwriting.
Tate assumed his role on December 18, and will be based in Chicago, the company said. Prior to joining Aspen, Tate served as the Chief Underwriting Officer at Berkley Fire & Marine since 2021.
His career also includes a significant tenure at The Hartford Insurance Co., where he held various executive-level positions over the course of 18 years, culminating in his role as Head of Marine.
In this newly created position at Aspen, Tate will take on the crucial responsibility of designing, implementing, and executing insurance solutions specifically tailored for the U.S. Inland Marine business.
His role will extend to actively engaging with brokers to address their appetite, risk management, and digital underwriting needs. Additionally, he will collaborate closely with Aspen’s First Party lines of coverage.
Tate will report directly to Josh Jennings, Senior Vice President and Head of Inland Marine and Property Programs at Aspen.
