Aspida Life Re, a Bermuda-based life and annuity reinsurance company, has announced that David Florian has been named as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
He brings over three decades of industry experience and over two decades of leadership experience to the Aspida Re team, joining from PartnerRe, where he was head of Global Life Financial Solutions.
In his new role as CEO of Aspida Re, Florian will work closely with Jon Steffen, President of Aspida Re, to expand product offerings and reach to other insurance clients.

While at PartnerRe, Florian was responsible for building and overseeing the Global Financial Solutions business, leading an international team from North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific regions.
Prior to that, he worked at Wells Fargo Corporation for over 16 years, where he served in various executive positions that most recently included Executive Vice President and CEO of its life and annuity reinsurance legal entities.
While there, he built a Bermuda reinsurance company, Union Hamilton Reinsurance, that focused on reinsurance solutions for large life and annuity carriers.
