Athene Holding Ltd., one of Bermuda’s leading retirement services companies, has announced that Fehmi Zeko is to be appointed to its board of directors.
Zeko is currently Vice Chairman of the Global Technology, Media and Telecommunications Investment Banking Group for Bank of America Merril Lynch in New York. In this role he helped implement the strategic plan to drive the global Technology, Media and Telecom franchise for large cap coverage.
Jim Belardi, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Athene Holding, said: “Fehmi has been a difference maker in the financial industry and we are excited to welcome him to Athene’s board of directors. He brings a particular expertise in technology, media and telecom to our board, which will be extremely valuable.”
Zeko was formerly Senior Managing Director at Macquarie, where he oversaw the firm’s Global Telecom, Media, Entertainment and Technology Investment Banking and Principal Investing Practice. Before this, he also served as Vice Chairman and Co-Founder of the Foros Group.
His new appointment will be subject to election by Athene’s company shareholders at the 2018 annual general meeting. If elected, Zeko’s term will expire at the 2020 annual general meeting.
