Sydney, Australia-based Reinsurance and Binder Broker, Wickshire Pty Ltd., has announced that it has been approved as a Lloyd’s of London Broker.
The approval means that Wickshire is the only Australian domiciled business to hold this status, and provides the firm’s clients will direct access to the entire London Lloyd’s marketplace.
Wickshire, a boutique brokerage with a focus on niche areas of the insurance industry, commenced business in 2013 and looks after clients in the underwriting agency, insurance, reinsurance, and captive segments of the market.
The firm was started by and is led by Neale Wickens, who from 2006 to 2007 served as the Managing Director of reinsurance broker, Gallagher Re. From 2008 to mid-2012 he worked at Canadian reinsurance brokerage, Beach and Associates.
He is supported by Dane Wickens, who joined the firm in 2014 from Gallagher Bassett, a Third Party Claims Administrator. In his role at Wickshire, he is involved in numerous insurance and reinsurance placements for a range of clients and lines of business, both locally and overseas.
