AXA XL appoints Ana Dores to intl. financial lines CUO role

AXA XL has appointed Ana Dores to be chief underwriting officer for international financial lines in APAC Europe.

axa-logoThe firm said in a statement that Dores will begin in her role at the beginning of September and will be based in Madrid.

She will oversee the management of AXA XL’s financial lines portfolio and, working closely with local underwriting teams, will be responsible for the underwriting strategy for professional indemnity, management liability, financial institutions, cyber, and mergers and acquisitions in Europe, Asia, and Australia.

Etienne Champion, chief underwriting officer for APAC and Europe at the firm, said: “Ana is a respected member of our financial lines business. She has a wealth of knowledge across our product suite and has built a solid reputation within the team since joining AXA XL in 2014.”

“She is well poised to help us deliver on our goals as we look to continue supporting our clients and profitably grow our portfolio.”

Dores started her career with AIG Europe first in Portugal as a financial lines underwriter and then in Madrid as a professional indemnity underwriter.

She then worked at Liberty Specialty Markets as a senior underwriter before joining AXA XL in 2014, where she has been leading the International Financial Lines for Iberia since 2017.
