AXIS Capital Holdings Limited has announced the appointment of Martin McCarty to the position of Global Treasurer.
In this role, McCarty will be responsible for overall capital, foreign currency, cash and liquidity management, as well as coordination with ratings agencies on behalf of AXIS Capital.
Additionally, he will be tasked with providing finance support to the company’s Risk Funding unit and servicing its strategic capital partners.
McCarty has been with AXIS for 15 years, having joined the company in 2004.
During that time, he has held a progression of finance management positions, including as Head of Finance North America, and most recently, as Global Head of Finance Operations.
He previously worked at Regions Financial Corporation prior to AXIS and started his career at Ernst & Young LLP.
Going forward, McCarty will continue to be based in AXIS Capital’s Alpharetta, Georgia office, and will report to Peter Vogt, Group Chief Financial Officer.
“I am excited to be able to fill this role with an internal candidate with such extensive knowledge of AXIS and who can bring such a holistic view of capital to the position,” said Vogt.
“I am sure Martin will approach the Global Treasurer role with all the drive, leadership and collaboration he has exhibited throughout his career,” he added.
