AXIS Capital, a global specialty underwriter and provider of re/insurance solutions has promoted Raj Brar to Head of International Casualty MGA, where he will be based in London. His appointment is effective immediately.
The company confirmed that in his new role Brar will be responsible for building and growing the Casualty MGA line of business, as well as continuing to lead the underwriting for Construction MGA.
Brar joined AXIS in 2019, taking on the role of Senior Construction Underwriter.
Before he joined AXIS, Brar worked at Brit Insurance where he served as a Class Underwriter Engineering.
In addition, Brar has also previously held underwriting engineering roles at various firms, such as ProSight Specialty Insurance and Catlin.
Between 2002 – 2004, Brar served as an Account Executive at WTW.
In other related news, AXIS Capital has recently made a string of appointments, including Rebecca O’Kill who was named Chief Data & Analytics Officer and Alex Wareham who was appointed to the role of Underwriter, Marine & Energy Reinsurance.
Earlier this year, AXIS Capital announced further commitments to reduce greenhouse gases (GHG) in its ambition to transition to a low-carbon economy.
