Axis Capital, a global specialty underwriter and provider of re/insurance solutions, has announced the promotion of Inmaculada Gonzales to Deputy Global Head of Ceded Reinsurance.
In her new role, she will help advance ceded reinsurance strategic priorities and drive best practices in governance and compliance on outwards reinsurance and retrocessional placements.
Gonzales joined Axis in 2019 as Head of Ceded Reinsurance Placements, US, a role she held for almost four years before her promotion.
Prior to Axis, she spent close to two years at AIG where she held the role of Senior Ceded Reinsurance Officer, Global Placement. Before this, Gonzales worked for almost 15 years at global insurer QBE, where she held several positions.
She joined QBE North America in 2002 as Vice President – Ceded Reinsurance Manager, before being named Head of Operations & Ceded Reinsurance Division, SVP. After almost two years in that position she was appointed Head of Ceded Reinsurance North America Division, SVP.
Before moving to AIG, Gonzales held the role of Head of Ceded Reinsurance, SVP, Latin America for almost three years.
Axis Capital has also recently appointed Christopher Gray as Global Head of Marine Reinsurance. Described as a well respected leader within the marine protection and indemnity (P&I) market, Gray joins the company after six years with Canopius Group.
