Barbican makes two senior promotions

Barbican Insurance Group has made to new promotions, with David Booth being appointed Director of Underwriting for Barbican Managing Agency Ltd (BMAL), and Andy Caldwell taking over from Booth as active underwriter, Syndicate 1955.

Barbican Insurance GroupIn his new role, Booth will be responsible for both the oversight and monitoring of the units underwriting and reinsurance strategy, while supervising the performance of all managed syndicates.

Booth brings more than 25 years of industry experience to the new role, and Joined Barbican in 2008.

Caldwell was previously deputy active underwriter, Syndicate 1955, and has now been promoted to active underwriter as Booth’s replacement. He now has responsibility for all activities of the syndicate.

Commenting on the promotions, BMAL Managing Director, Iain Bremner, said; “The creation of the director of underwriting role reflects the considerable success that BMAL has had in recent years, particularly in attracting and developing third party partnerships. I am delighted that someone of David’s market standing and underwriting acumen is taking up the position and look forward to working closely with him as we further expand our operations.
