Specialist insurer Beazley has announced the appointment of Hannah Smith to the role of miscellaneous medical underwriter within its US healthcare team.
Smith is based in Atlanta and will underwrite a number of miscellaneous medical professional liability risks while also working on Beazley’s virtual care book, which provides cover for technology-enabled healthcare and lifestyle management services.
She joins from Hiscox USA, having most recently served as regional lead managing a team of professional liability underwriters.
She will report to Jennifer Schoenthal, healthcare underwriter, who commented, “Healthcare providers are operating in an often challenging legal landscape with new exposures particularly driven by the digitalization of services.
“As we expand our team to meet the growing demand for specialist underwriting and claims expertise, I am delighted that Hannah has joined us.”
