Specialist insurer Beazley has announced the appointment of Richard Montminy as Global Head of Property, effective May 20th, 2019.
He brings more than 30 years of experience in both broking and senior underwriting within the commercial property space.
Montminy joins Beazley from Zurich North America, where he was most recently Head of Property for the U.S. Commercial Insurance business. Prior to Zurich, he spent 17 years at broker Marsh USA where he held numerous roles.
He succeeds Mark Bernacki, who left the company in April after 13 years of service.
In his new role, Montminy will be responsible for the development of the firm’s global property strategy, and will lead property teams in the U.K (including Lloyd’s), the U.S., and in Singapore.
He will also join the firm’s executive committees and will report to Adrian Cox, Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO), who commented on the appointment: “I am delighted to welcome Richard to Beazley. He brings a wealth of experience to our second largest division, including a deep understanding of both the U.S. and London property insurance markets.”
