Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has announced that it has appointed two leaders to regional leadership positions.
Alessandro Cerase has been named President & Head of Europe Region, and Neeraj Yadvendu is now Head of Middle East and subject to regulatory approval, will concurrently take on the role of Senior Executive Officer of the Dubai International Financial Centre Branch.
Cerase joined BHSI in 2018, taking on the role of Senior Executive Officer for BHSI Middle East and led the launch of BHSI’s business within the region.
Moving forward to 2020, he was then named to the additional position of Global Property Underwriter Officer for Construction & Energy.
Overall, Cerase has more than 25 years of industry experience, and throughout his career he has lived and worked in the UK, the US, and the Middle East.
BHSI has confirmed that in his new role, Cerase will continue to be based in Dubai where he will report to Peter Eastwood, President and Chief Executive Officer, BHSI.
Elsewhere, Yadvendu joined BHSI in 2018 as Deputy Senior Executive Officer and Head of Third Party Lines in the Middle East, and has since played a key role in helping drive BHSI’s growth in the region. He has more than 26 years of experience within the industry and has lived and worked in the UK, Asia, and the Middle East.
In his new role, Yadvendu will continue to be based in Dubai and will report to Marc Breuil, Head of Asia Middle East, BHSI.

These new appointments follow on from a recent string of hires/promotions made by BHSI, including the promotion of James Byrnes to Head of Construction Professional, North America, and the appointments of three executives to claims leadership roles in Germany.
