BMS Iberia has announced that it has signed a deal to acquire Spanish specialty re/insurance broker, Seguros Viafina.
The agreement is set to be completed this month, with BMS acquiring Viafina in full.
The deal is subject to regulatory approval by the Dirección General de Seguros y Fondos de Pensiones.
BMS states that the acquisition serves as a continuation of its long-term strategic plan for the Iberian region, building on its existing presence and adding further capabilities and infrastructure.
Viafina, which is headquartered in Seville, has a record of providing effective and personalised insurance solutions for its clients that range from listed multinational corporations to SMEs.
Viafina’s main focus is on construction and renewable energy insurance. It is also a specialist in surety insurance, advising companies on international guarantees, and helping them with projects and public tenders globally.
Gonzalo Camacho, CEO of Viafina, will hence report to Fernando Claro, CEO of BMS Iberia. Camacho also joins as Surety Managing Director and will become a member of the Executive Committee of BMS Iberia.
