Specialist insurance and reinsurance broker BMS Group has launched a Private Equity, Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and Tax Insurance unit, and has named Tan Pawar as Managing Director of the new team.
Pawar is set to join the firm once he has completed contractual obligations, and, will report to Ian Gormley, Managing Director of BMS Global Risks.
He joins the firm from Paragon International Insurance Brokers Ltd, where he most recently served as Senior Vice President and where he co-established the M&A Insurance division in 2014. Prior to Paragon International, Pawar served as Divisional Director, International M&A & Transaction Services at broker Willis from 2011.
He brings extensive experience to BMS Group and in his new role will be tasked with developing the re/insurance broker’s presence in the M&A insurance space.

We have identified a significant gap in the market to provide tailored products for corporate M&A transactions and will be expanding significantly in this space,” said Gormley.
Following the receipt of a significant investment by British Columbia Investment Management Corporation and Preservation Capital Partners, BMS has looked to expand with the appointment of Pawar being a continuation of this trend.
