Specialty reinsurance broker BMS Re has appointed Chris McDowell as CEO of BMS Re Bermuda.
His appointment is effective November 26, 2022, following the completion of his notice period and any requisite regulatory approvals.
At the same time, the company has also appointed Mario Binetti as head of casualty treaty and actuarial for BMS Re Bermuda, effective immediately.
Both McDowell and Binetti will be based in Bermuda.
McDowell, who brings more than 30 years of experience from working within reinsurance joins BMS Re from his most recent role as CEO of Gallagher Re Bermuda.
Prior to that, he served at Aon Benfield where he held the role of CEO of Global Re Specialty in Bermuda.
Additionally, Binetti also brings more than 30 years of experience within the industry towards his new role.
He joins BMS Re from Everest Re Bermuda, where he served as head of casualty treaty underwriting and actuarial. Before this, he was senior vice president and chief actuary at JRG Re in Bermuda.
