Bulgarian reinsurance company EIG Re, a subsidiary of Euroins Insurance Group (EIG), is seeking regulatory approval to offer new types of insurance policies.
The Financial Supervision Commission (FSC) said in a recent statement that EIG Re had requested an extension of its licence to allow it to expand its offering.
In response, the FSC has asked EIG Re to provide additional documents and information regarding the request.
EIG Re is the third-largest reinsurer in Bulgaria, recording gross written premiums of 3.6 million levs (€1.8 million) in the first nine months of 2019.
During this period, premiums only related to reinsurance policies for goods in transit, ships, and fire and natural forces.
