Canada Life Reinsurance has appointed Wil Chong as Executive Advisor, Asia Pacific.
Within this role he will based in Singapore, where he will work closely with Canada Life Re to support the development of their reinsurance propositions and strengthen their engagement with clients in the Asia-Pacific region.
Overall, Chong brings more than 25 years of industry experience towards the role.
He has held leadership roles in several major insurance and reinsurance throughout the course of his career, including Pacific Life Re where he served as General Manager, Asia Markets for two years.
Prior to Pacific Life Re, Chong spent nearly 10 years at Allianz Reinsurance, where he served in a variety of senior roles, including, Global Chief Actuary, Life & Health and Global Head of Life and Health.
Earlier on in his career, Chong served as General Manager – Head of Life and Health, China, at reinsurance giant, Swiss Re. He held this role for four years.
In addition to his new role at Canada Life Re, Chong is also a Member of the Board of Advisors at insurtech 360F.
