CCR names Nicolas Bauduceau to Head of Public Funds & Prevention Department

CCR, which provides the French insurance market with reinsurance cover against natural disasters through a state-backed Natural Disaster compensation scheme, has appointed Nicolas Bauduceau to Head of the Public Funds & Prevention Department.

Bauduceau boasts significant experience natural risk prevention expertise; in 2006, he worked for the European Center for Flood Risk Prevention (CEPRI) as an advisor later becoming scientific and technical deputy director then director in 2010.

In 2003, he joined the Paris-based consulting firm of AScA specializing in the assessment of environmental public policies, and natural risk prevention.

CCR serves the French State and insurance market actors by delivering technical knowledge of natural disaster events as well as cost estimates for damages; it also manages the Barnier fund and the National Guaranty Fund for Agricultural Disasters on behalf of the state.

Its digital models are provided through partnerships with organisations such as Météo France, Sertit and Predict.

Bauduceau began his career in 2000 as a member of the Loire Plan Multidisciplinary Team charged with implementing a flood risk prevention strategy for the Loire basin.

He holds a diploma in agricultural engineering from the French National Institute of Agronomy at Paris-Grignon (INA-PG) and a post-graduate degree in international economy (Paris II).
