CFC, a specialist insurance provider centred on emerging risks and recognised as a market leader in cyber insurance, has appointed Isabel Finn as Head of Cyber Exposure and Proactive Risk.
CFC describes the position as a newly established role aimed at enhancing how cyber risk is identified, interpreted and actively reduced throughout the insurance lifecycle.
According to CFC, the appointment comes in response to rising demand from brokers and clients for more precise and practical insight into cyber exposure, including clearer understanding of how risk is changing, how it influences coverage and pricing, and how it can be addressed earlier.
In this role, Finn will concentrate on converting the firm’s extensive incident data, threat intelligence and monitoring capabilities into actionable intelligence to support broker placement discussions and help clients identify where their most significant exposures lie. She will collaborate closely with CFC’s underwriting, product, proactive cyber and incident response teams to ensure that insights into exposure are embedded within underwriting decisions, proactive services and claims mitigation efforts.
Jason Hart, Managing Director, Proactive and Global Cyber Security Services at CFC, said: “Cyber risk has become more complex and more data-rich than ever before. The challenge for the market is turning that data into something brokers and clients can put to use. Isabel’s role is about closing that gap.”
He added: “By strengthening the feedback loop between incidents we see, the intelligence we gather and the way risk is assessed and priced, we’re giving brokers clearer, more practical insight to support placement discussions and help clients take meaningful action to reduce their exposure. That’s increasingly what the market is asking for, and this role is a key step in delivering it.”
Finn brings experience in cyber security, exposure analysis and risk translation, with a track record of helping insurers, underwriters and security leaders understand how technical cyber risks translate into real-world losses and how they can be reduced through better insight and prioritisation.
Before joining CFC, Finn was Cyber Services Manager at Canopius, where she oversaw cyber exposure and service initiatives designed to support underwriting and risk reduction. CFC also highlights her previous positions as Senior Cyber Security Consultant at FTI Consulting and Cyber Analyst at Darktrace, where she developed expertise in incident response, threat analysis and the practical application of cyber risk insight in a commercial context.
CFC adds that the introduction of this role is intended to deepen its engagement with brokers and the wider market, enabling more structured discussions around how cyber exposure data is shared, understood and applied in practice, with implications for underwriting decisions as well as proactive risk management and response.
Finn added: “I’m really excited to join CFC. What stood out to me is the strength of its response, intelligence and monitoring capabilities, and the depth of real-world data that sits behind them. That creates a real opportunity to turn what we see in incidents into something more forward-looking, helping clients and underwriters better understand where risk is building and how to act on it at speed.
“Throughout my career, I’ve focused on translating complex technical risk into something clear, practical and usable, whether that’s supporting underwriting decisions or helping security leaders prioritise where to focus. I’m looking forward to helping shape how CFC continues to evolve its proactive capabilities and bringing greater clarity to the risks that matter most for brokers and clients.”
