Chubb rehires Barbara Sandelands to lead North America unit

Chubb has named Barbara Sandelands Executive Vice President (EVP) and Customarq Package Product Manager for its North America Commercial Insurance division.

Chubb logoAs EVP she’ll lead the product, system development, and distribution management of the Customarq package policy, which offers middle market clients property and liability insurance protection through 48 offices throughout the U. S. and Canada.

Sandelands is rejoining Chubb from a role as Senior Vice President of Underwriting Services for CNA.

“Chubb offers a rare combination of broad capabilities, a dynamic and entrepreneurial culture and exceptional leadership,” said Sandelands, “I am excited to reunite with wonderful friends and colleagues who I have known, professionally and personally, since the beginning of my career.”

Prior to her CNA role, she served as Chubb’s Workers’ Compensation Manager for its Commercial Insurance division from 2013 to 2016, having first joined Chubb in 1984, gaining extensive experience in a variety of roles including; General Liability Manager, Quality Assurance Specialist/Property Rewrite Manager and Customarq Project Lead.

As EVP for Chubb she’ll be based in Whitehouse Station, reporting to Paul Lewis Executive Vice President, Chief Underwriting Officer, Commercial Insurance, who welcomed her to her new role; “Barb will bring deep product and underwriting knowledge to our team and will play a critical role in driving the strategy for the next generation of our flagship Customarq product.”
