SCOR, the French-based global reinsurance group, has revealed that Marie Biggas has been appointed Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SCOR Business Solutions on an interim basis, ahead of fully stepping into the role on January 1st, 2027.
Biggas currently serves as the Global Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) of SCOR Business Solutions and Cedant Fac.
Once she transitions into the role permanently, Claire McDonald will move into a non-executive position for SCOR UK/SCOR Managing Agency Limited.
Biggas joined SCOR in 2022 as SCOR UK CUO and Active Underwriter of SCOR Syndicate, before taking on her most recent role in April 2024.
Prior to that she served at Arch Insurance Group for over eight years as Vice President, Deputy Active Underwriter, Head of Terrorism, Aviation War and Space. Biggas joined Arch as a Senior Underwriter responsible for managing and growing the terrorism portfolio.
In the past, she has served at Chubb as Senior Terrorism Underwriter, Chaucer Syndicates as Assistant Underwriter, and Amlin plc as Underwriting Assistant.
Biggas commented, “Stepping into this role, I am very conscious of the responsibility it brings, but also of the opportunity ahead of us. McDonald added, “As we complete Forward 2026 and go into a new strategic cycle, the timing seems right to make this change. I look forward to continuing to contribute to SCOR’s success and supporting the transition of leadership for SCOR Business Solutions.”
