CNA Hardy appoints Carl Day as Lloyd’s Active Underwriter

CNA Hardy, a UK specialist commercial re/insurer, has announced that Carl Day has been appointed to the role of Active Underwriter for Lloyd’s Syndicate 382.

carl-dayHe will take over the role from current Active Underwriter Patrick Gage as of 1 January 2019, the company said.

Day currently serves as Head of Property, Marine and Energy at CNA Hardy, and will retain this position following the appointment.

He has more than 22 year’s experience in the London re/insurance market and joined CNA Hardy just over three years ago from Hiscox to build out our Marine and Energy capabilities across both company and syndicate platforms.

In his new role, Day will be responsible for liaison with Lloyd’s and will act as the focal point for the Lloyd’s Underwriting Performance Team.

“We are poised for growth across our chosen products and segments,” said Dave Brosnan, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CNA Hardy.

“Carl’s appointment as Lloyd’s active underwriter will help us do just that as he brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to the role,” Brosnan added.
