Compre appoints QBE’s Simon Hawkins as COO

Compre, the independent European re/insurance legacy acquirer, has announced that QBE’s Simon Hawkins is to join the company as Group Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Simon HawkinsHawkins is currently Group Head of Retrospective Solutions at QBE, and is expected to take up his new position at Compre in the third quarter of 2018, subject to regulatory approval.

While at QBE, Hawkins developed an innovative approach to legacy management, and will support Compre’s growth ambitions with his 20 years of legacy-sector experience.

Mark Lawson, co-Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Compre, said: “We are delighted Simon is joining the business at this exciting time for Compre, given the ever-increasing opportunities for growth in the legacy market.

Compre specialises in the acquisition and management of discontinued non-life portfolios, and has experience in all classes of direct and reinsurance business, including property, liability, marine and motor.
