International re/insurance broker, Consilium, part of the Aventum Group, has announced that it has created a dedicated in-house claims team and has appointed Nicola Chapman to Head of Claims.
Chapman holds almost two decades of claims experience working for independent brokers and joins Consilium from TUE, previously the Underwriting Exchange.
In the new role, Chapman will be responsible for driving a market-leading claims advocacy proposition, supported by Duncan Childs, Partner at Consilium, and a team of in-house claims handlers dedicated to Consilium’s clients and brokers.
Childs, who is a qualified lawyer specialising in insurance contract law, joined Consilium in October from Ed Broking, where he was responsible for developing market-leading insurance contracts and claims advocacy services.
James Baird, who was appointed CEO and Managing Partner of Consilium earlier this year, commented, “Until now Consilium has had an excellent claims resource from central services shared across the Aventum Group, but I’m delighted that Consilium now has its own dedicated in-house claims team, wholly focussed on delivering exceptional service for Consilium’s clients and brokers.
