The Insurance Council of Australia (ICA) has announced that, along with insurers, it will meet with policyholders requiring assistance with their claims for property damage caused by Victoria’s recent exposure to destructive weather events.

The Insurance Council of AustraliaClaims managers and assessors will travel to the worst hit towns over four days to meet with their customers.

Tropical Cyclone Seroj impacted parts of Western Australia after making landfall late Sunday April 11.

The ICA says the coastal town of Kalbarri took the brunt of the tropical cyclone, as did the community of Northampton.

To date there have been 6,751 claims lodged related to Cyclone Seroja, with 99.67% per cent accepted and more than 46% closed. The current estimated loss value is $281 million.

The ICA also has a virtual one-on-one consultation portal for insurance customers who are unable to attend the consultations next week and need assistance with their claims.
