Darlea named AVP, Product Recall of Nexus US Specialty Casualty Division

Specialty managing general agent (MGA), Nexus Underwriting has appointed Justin Darlea as Assistant Vice President, Product Recall, in its Specialty Casualty business.

nexus-logoDarlea joins Nexus Underwriting from Starr Insurance Companies, where he held the role of Regional Underwriting Manager, Crisis Management, and was responsible for a significant portfolio for the last five years.

Before joining Starr, Darlea served as a Product Recall Broker at Marsh & McLennan Companies. Additionally, he also previously served as an Underwriting Assistant at  broker, Morstan General Agency.

Darlea began his career within the insurance industry in 2013, when he Munich Re America as a Reinsurance Accounting Analyst.

Christof Bentele, President Specialty Casualty, Nexus Underwriting US, said: “This appointment highlights the expansion of the division, and the successful launch of the Product Recall and Contamination Line of business last year. Reporting to me, Justin brings with him ten years of highly relevant experience, both in broking and underwriting, not least in this class and he is now well placed to expand the business nationwide.
