Long-standing leader David Priebe has been named as the new Chairman of reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter this morning.
Having worked at the brokerage since 1981, Priebe has held a range of leadership positions, most recent as its Vice Chairman.
Moving up to Chairman effective immediately, Priebe will continue to report to Guy Carpenter’s President and CEO, Peter Hearn and remains a member of the company’s Executive Committee.

He is a true client champion and has dedicated his career to helping Guy Carpenter identify client needs and develop and deliver solutions that help them profitably grow. The company said the promotion of Priebe reflects its strategically aligned leadership structure and will help to deliver continued client benefits and growth.
Priebe will work with the CEO to continue and complete the integration of JLT Re capabilities following the acquisition of the firm by its parent.
He will also have a U.S. focus still, working alongside John Trace, CEO of North America to support key North America-based clients, as well as working with numerous global clients of Guy Carpenter.
Priebe will keep his oversight of the broker’s recently created Global Capital Solutions Group, made up of GC Securities and Global Risk Solutions, led by Shiv Kumar and Ed Hochberg respectively.
This group combines the reinsurance brokers capital markets, non-traditional solutions, M&A advisory and third party capital raising operations into an integrated team to drive client profitability and growth.
