The international specialist corporate insurance arm of insurer Allianz, Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS), has announced that David Warfel will replace Mike Hansen as Head of Aviation, North America, effective October 1st, 2017.
Warfel previously held the position of Head of Major Risks for Aviation at Allianz, a position he had for over five years.
In his new role he will be based in New York, U.S., and is to replace Hansen, who was promoted to Global Head of Aviation earlier in 2017, and will report to John Barnwell, Regional Head of Specialty Lines, North America.
Hansen, commented; “Ensuring we are the industry leader in all things from customer service to product excellence has always been our number one priority. Dave’s experience and long-standing relationships in the market only solidify our commitment to this cause.”
Warfel has been with AGCS since 2008, and has almost 20 years of experience in the aviation insurance sector. Prior to AGCS, Warfel held positions at AIG and USAIG.
Barnwell, commented on the appointment; “For almost ten years, Dave has been an integral part of the growth in our Aviation business. His commitment to our clients and brokers, as well as his ability to create customer solutions will keep us ahead of the industry standard.”
