Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, a division of global reinsurer Swiss Re, has promoted Didier Belot from a post leading the Innovative Risk Solutions team in Asia Pacific to Head of Southeast Asia.
Belot first joined Swiss Re in 2008 and has held roles across the U.S., China, and Europe.
“Didier’s experience in the region and on executing tailored, multi-line solutions for domestic and international clients will be a great asset, particularly as the insurance market evolves through economic, technological and regulatory changes,” said Swiss Re Corporate Solutions Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Asia Pacific, Jonathan Rake.
He added that his appointment adds impetus to the firm’s efforts to deliver commercial insurance solutions and risk management services to a diverse local client base.
Swiss Re Corporate Solutions’ local teams based in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur offer a wide range of solutions across property, casualty and specialty insurance lines.
The reinsurer has been strengthening its reach in emerging markets, which it says will be the main driver of premium growth, with premiums forecast to rise by 6% to 7%, in real terms annually, over the next two years.
Bélot, who will continue to be based in Singapore, said; “This is an exciting time to lead our South East Asia team and I look forward to leveraging the strength of Swiss Re and delivering meaningful solutions to corporate clients.
“I am eager to work with our clients to help generate added value to their businesses and build resilience through our team of claims, risk engineering and underwriting specialists.”
