A newly established insurance and reinsurance business, called Vantage, is set to launch with industry veterans Dinos Iordanou as Non-Executive Chairman, and Greg Hendrick as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Reinsurance News understands.
Vantage is a newly-formed re/insurance entity with fresh capital and a new perspective on risk, and is preparing itself for launch amid improving market conditions.
The new re/insurer launches with Hellman & Friedman (H&F) and The Carlyle Group as capital partners, both of which have significant experience with insurance and reinsurance startups.
As reinsurance market firming continued through 2020, there’s been an expectation of a flurry of re/insurance startups to capitalise on the positive momentum. Speculation has been rife, but now, one of the most talked about potential startups ahead of the Jan 1st, 2021 renewals has a name, Vantage, as well as a stellar leadership team.
Iordanou, formerly of Arch Capital, will serve as Vantage’s Non-Executive Chairman, while Hendrick, formerly of AXA XL, will serve as the company’s CEO.
Chris McKeown, the former CEO of insurance-linked securities (ILS) asset manager, New Ocean Capital Management, will lead Reinsurance, Risk and Innovation at Vantage. While Nick Pritchard, previously of Neon, will lead Vantage’s Property Catastrophe Reinsurance operation.
Additionally, Aurora Swithenbank, formerly a Partner and Head of Insurance in the Americas Financing Group at Goldman Sachs, will serve as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Vantage.
