Josip Malenica, previously Head of Reinsurance at GrECo Specialty, has launched Link Broker Europe d.o.o., a new brokerage operating from Croatia and specialising in facultative reinsurance placements across Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe.
Link Broker Europe is supported by Turkish brokerage Link Reasürans ve Sigorta Brokerliği A.Ş. (Link Turkey), which provides the newly established business with the backing of an existing broking group. The partnership establishes a foundation for the Croatian firm to serve clients in regional reinsurance markets.
The company focuses on arranging facultative reinsurance for cedents throughout Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and South-Eastern Europe (SEE). Link Broker Europe also handles selected direct insurance business, according to the company.
Malenica has taken on the role of Managing Director, bringing 13 years of experience in reinsurance across the region. Before launching Link Broker Europe, he led reinsurance operations at GrECo Specialty and previously held the position of Head of Reinsurance at Marsh Croatia. He began his career in the sector as a reinsurance underwriter in Croatia.
