UK reinsurance broker Ed has announced that it has enhanced its Professional & Executive Risk team with the appointment of Duncan Childs as Wordings Advisory Manager.
Childs will now be responsible for drafting policy wordings for Ed’s clients, and will report to James Baird, Director of the Professional & Executive Risk team at Ed.
Baird commented on the appointment, saying: “Duncan is a recognised insurance law expert, whose experience will be a tremendous asset to our team and a source of additional, invaluable support for existing and future clients.
“His expertise and depth of knowledge will be a clear differentiator for our offering as we continue to build out our Professional & Executive Risk business. I am delighted to welcome him to Ed.”
Childs has over 20 years’ experience in insurance law and joins Ed from global law firm Eversheds Sutherland, where he was part of the firm’s specialist insurance coverage team.
Before this, Childs was a solicitor at Davies Lavery (now Kennedys), where he was responsible for defending professional indemnity claims and acting on behalf of re/insurers.
