International re/insurance broker, Gallagher, has announced the new appointment of Gavin Tidman to its global energy practice.
Tidman will be based in London in Gallagher’s Speciality division where he will join the senior management team as Executive partner. His main focus will be on the business development within the global energy and power sector.
This will enable the business to grow its presence in international markets, as well as strengthening relationships with clients.
With over 400 clients across six continents, Gallagher’s energy practice handles upstream, downstream, power and renewable energy risks for clients internationally, including seven of the 25 largest energy companies.
Commenting on his appointment, Tidman said: “The energy industry, being responsible for vital infrastructure, is continuously evolving and businesses in the sector are facing increasingly complex risks.”
He continued: “Now, more than ever, organisations require tailor-made approaches to risk management, and need to work with industry specialists who can help them navigate the changing landscape and build resilience to risk. I’m delighted to be joining a business with a significant breadth of experience, strong client relationships and an extensive global footprint, and look forward to working with the team to identify further opportunities for growth.”
Jonathan Smith, Energy Managing Partner, Gallagher said: “The global energy sector holds solid growth potential for our wide range of client solutions, particularly for large and complex multinationals, and we are very pleased that Gavin will be at the forefront of our business development activities – enabling us to capitalise on growth opportunities and foster client relationships.”
Bringing years of experience in the energy and power insurance market, Gavin joins Gallagher from THB Group where he was director of worldwide property.
This news comes in after the company reported their H1 2020 results.
