Gallagher Re has announced changes in two leadership positions within its International division as part of the reinsurance broking group’s overall evolution and positioning for growth.

gallagher-re-logoAs of this month, Alkis Tsimaratos, who remains as Managing Director, is taking up a newly created role as leader of Gallagher Re’s Products and Practices proposition and teams.

Prior to this, his responsibility was for the EMEA W/S region of which he was previously the ‘head of’, now it is across the whole of the International division.

Subsequently, fellow Managing Director Dirk Spenner, who was previously head of EMEA N/E will lead a new, single EMEA business, as Gallagher Re brings together teams across EMEA N/E and EMEA W/S to create a unified business unit best positioned for future growth and platform expansion.

The newly created role of Products & Practices entails extending Tsimaratos’ geographic remit across the whole of Gallagher Re’s International division, to include all of EMEA, Asia Pacific and Latin America & Caribbean.

He will work closely with Gallagher Re’s products, practices, regional leaders, and production teams right across the International to maximise growth opportunities. Tsimaratos will also work with Gallagher Re’s global Centres of Excellence to ensure the most effective deployment of the broad and deep product/practice knowledge available globally within the International division.

Commenting on the new roles, Tony Melia, the CEO of International at Gallagher Re, said, “Fundamental to our growth strategy is the investment in and expansion of our proposition around existing and emerging client needs. This demands the fast, effective deployment of our deep product and practices knowledge and expertise from wherever it is located, right across our business globally, to wherever the client needs it.

“Creating a new role to lead our Products and Practices propositions and teams across our International division supports that strategy. As does the creation of a single EMEA business. This will both support the strong growth achieved by the individual units over recent years, while enhancing our future growth potential and platform expansion.”
