Gallagher has announced that it is launching energy and power risk services for clients in the Middle East, naming Jack Wishart to lead the new practice as Divisional Director & Head of Risk Engineering.
Wishart, who is currently Vice President, Risk Engineer, at Marsh in the UAE, will join Gallagher in February 2023.
Wishart holds extensive risk engineering experience in supporting energy clients at both construction and operational stages in refining, petrochemicals, oil terminals and gas processing.
This experience includes undertaking underwriting surveys, benchmarking reports, loss prevention seminars, and process safety assessments.
Throughout his career, he has worked with businesses across the Middle East, North Africa, Europe, North America and South East Asia.
Before transitioning into insurance, Wishart held a number of roles at ExxonMobil including Process Engineer and Site Energy Coordinator. He has also previously served as Crude Oil Scheduler at Fawley Oil Refinery in the UK.
Wishart commented on his appointment, stating, “I am thrilled to be joining Gallagher and to be building its energy and power risk engineering team in the Middle East & Africa.

Gallagher suggests that the expansion of the team and the addition of risk engineering services in the Middle East builds on its existing global energy practice, which employs over 100 risk professionals and handles upstream, downstream, power and renewable energy risks for clients across the world.
