Galway Holdings, a diversified broker and insurance distribution platform, has appointed Steve Denton as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Galway Retail Services, with John Jennings taking over as CEO of Galway Specialty Markets.

Changes within the firm’s executive leadership team also sees John Hahn, Galway’s Executive Chairman, take on the role of Chairman, maintaining his focus on new and strategic opportunities that align with Galway’s vision.

Hahn commented, “I wholeheartedly believe in Steve and John’s capability to excel in these roles. Their passion for what we are building, and belief in our unique culture, make them the perfect fit to drive our vision and strategy as we move forward. Our collective organizations are lucky to have strong leaders as we embark on new future endeavors together.”

Denton is a market veteran with more than three decades of experience in value creation in the retail insurance and risk management industry. As CEO of EPIC Insurance Brokers & Consultants, he led the build-out of its service platform and oversaw several recent acquisitions that broadened EPIC’s resources and strengthened its geographic reach.

Denton added, “I am grateful for the confidence John (Hahn) and our investors have placed in John (Jennings) and me as we take the helm of this incredible enterprise. We will build on the foundation that our business segment leaders have created with their clear vision, specialty driven strategies and, most importantly, our people-first culture.”

Jennings has more than 35 years of experience, focused almost exclusively on the wholesale distribution space. He was the CEO at Jencap Group, LLC, and a member of its founding team. He propelled the company to rank as the fourth-largest wholesale property and casualty (P&C) distribution firm in the U.S.

The firm added, “Jennings is well-positioned to drive the continued growth of Galway’s wholesale business.”

Jennings commented, “As Galway continues on its strong growth trajectory, I see vast potential for expansion across several business lines in our integrated platform. I’m deeply appreciative of the confidence and trust John Hahn and the rest of Galway’s executive team have invested in me to help drive our sustained success.”

Steve Carlson, President, Private Equity, Harvest Partners, concluded, “Galway’s unique approach to the market is what attracted us to partner with them years ago. We have seen them continue to add depth of leadership, services and exceed performance with their growth. The team at Harvest remains in close partnership with the strategic direction of the organization and is excited for the future.”
